Christine Cortese, a plein-air painter, says, “”nature is my inspiration: the way the different times of day bring out the light, color and shape capture my attention. My passion is to effectively combine colors to create harmonies and light in my paintings.”
Christine received her bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Barbara while also studying with Russian impressionist master Ovanes Berberian.
She lives in San Luis Obispo, Ca, teaches at San Luis Obispo Museum of Art and participates in Open Studios, Art After Dark and the Art Bar.
Bold colors, together with the breathtaking views of California’s Central Coast, have helped forged her loose and expressive signature style.
